Bylaws

The Township is in the process of making its bylaws available electronically.We have hundreds of bylaws and will post those on our website which are asked for the most by the public. If there is is bylaw that you would like to see posted please email us at clerk@tudorandcashel.com.  Older bylaws will be added as time and funds permit. Paper copies of all bylaws are available at the Township office.

Bylaw Enforcement

The Building & Bylaw Enforcement Department is responsible for the enforcement of bylaws passed by Council for the Township of Tudor and Cashel. Typical issues that are dealt with include,

  • Accumulation of debris on private property
  • Illegal dumping
  • Mandatory recycling
  • Animal control
  • Noise
  • Zoning Bylaw violations (e.g. illegal placement of trailers on vacant lands)

Bylaw complaints must be registered in writing. Complaints sent by email will also be accepted. Complaints will be accepted only if the following information is provided:

  • Complainant name, address and telephone number.
  • Complaint location (address).
  • Satisfactory explanation of the complaint and details that would assist with an investigation.
  • Summary of when and where the problem/infraction is occuring.

To file a noise complaint during regular business hours call the Building & Bylaw Enforcement Department at 613 474-2583. For after-hours noise complaints, please contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122.

Dog Licensing & Animal Control

Dog owners in the Township of Tudor and Cashel are required to obtain a dog license for each of their dogs. Dog licenses can be purchased at the Township offices at a cost of

  • $5/dog for first dog
  • $3/dog for each additional dog/dogs

When you purchase a dog license you will be given a dog tag that must be attached to your dog’s collar. Licenses must be purchased by April 30th and expire on December 31st of each year.

Any concerns or complaints regarding dogs barking consistently or running at large should be made to the Building & Bylaw Enforcement Department.

All dog attacks should be reported to the Animal Control Officer, Ontario Provincial Police and/or the Building & Bylaw Enforcement Department.  In an emergency situation call 9-1-1.

To report a nuisance bear around your property, contact the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) Bear Wise hotline at 1-866-514-BEAR(2327), TTY 705-945-7641. In an immediate emergency call 9-1-1.
